Marissa Dunham is a writer and freelance editor.

At the beginning of her career, Marissa worked in-house in the editorial department of a small education publishing press before switching to freelance editing in fiction, specializing in science fiction and fantasy. She keeps a day job in digital marketing.

You can find her writing at Marissa’s Take On column on O.C. Writers.com, where she reviewed 100 books on the craft of writing. She is also very active in her local writing community. She attended Richard Bausch’s Community Writers Workshop, is a regular at poetry open mics, is an active member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA), which she founded and now coordinates programing for at the Orange County Chapter of the EFA. Academic-wise she currently holds a Master of Arts Degree in Medieval Studies (Literature Pathway) from the University of Birmingham (UK), as well as a Certificate in Copyediting from the University of San Diego Extension.

Marissa lives in Southern California where she loves spending time in the garden. Her hope is to finish her novel sooner rather than later.
